Police Book Auto Driver By Tracing Mobile Calls

An unidentified auto driver has been booked for looting a passenger last month. The victim has not lodged the complaint due to fear but police traced the stolen mobile during investigating another case leading to filing the complaint.   However, no arrest has been made in this regard.

Sanjay Chauthi Chauhan took the autorickshaw on Dec. 21 at 2:30 PM near PMC building. His friend Raju Chauhan was also with him. He wanted to go to Swargate but the driver took him to Mangalwar Peth. The driver, along with his three accomplices, threatened the passengers with knife and got hold of 2 mobiles and Rs 6,700 from them.

Chauhan hails from Rajsthan. He works as a labour at Talegaon-Dhamdhere. Out of fear, he did not lodged any complaint with the police. But during investigating another case, the police traced the number and reached to Chauhan. After he narrated the incident, a police complaint was filed todya at Faraskhana police station. U. A. Dhumal, sub inspector, Faraskhana police station is investigating the case.
